Like so many others we picked up golf during the pandemic as a way to stay active and social and completely fell in love with the game. Very quickly though we noticed how limited the apparel options were for women. We were shocked at how hard it was to find clothing we loved, felt great in, and that was still appropriate for the course. It wasn't just about the clothes either. We felt completely out of place on the range, in the clubhouse and even just walking into our local retailer. And we weren’t alone in these feelings. The more women we talked to the more we realized how pervasive this problem was which didn’t make sense to us because...
Today women are the fastest growing segment of the game and they are being seriously underserved. We’re on a mission to create the clothes and the community that we wish we had been able to find when we started playing.
We started Birdie to break down the barriers that keep women from picking up and sticking with golf. Birdie is about clothes, community, and above all, building confidence on and off the course. We are helping the next generation of women golfers be able to say YES to those invitations to play.

Meet Aly! Aly is one of our biggest mentors and inspirations here at Birdie. She has been involved in golf since she was a kid, playing competitively since she was 13 and now working in the industry. In this blog we catch up with Aly and hear about her golf journey.
Fun Fact: When Aly got to university there was a men's golf team but not a women's team! When she graduated, the women’s team that she started alongside her coach and other two founding members had grown to 6, played in national championships, and had individual first place wins. Way to grow the game Aly!
Stephanie Elsey reflects on her experience growing up playing golf and playing for her university team. She lets us in on her favourite parts of the game, what she's working on this summer and why it's important to see more women on the course.
Golf is something I grew up around and has always been a big part of my life. Both my parents used to play in leagues when I was younger. When my mum passed away we started a memorial golf tournament in her honour and my whole family would play in her memory. I love to play and it's something I want to get better at each and every time I head out onto the course.
